Air France KLM Cargo transports 50 paintings to Brazil
Air France KLM Martinair Cargo flew 50 paintings by renowned Dutch painter Piet Mondrian and 25 drawings and etchings from the The Hague s museum of modern art in Netherlands to Brazil. The Dutch company Hizkia van Kralingen shipped the artworks from the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Hizkia specialises in packing and transporting art and operates worldwide in this field. The Mondrian artworks were safely carried in specially customised Turtle boxes. The boxes are built of materials that ensure a stable interior climate and absorb external vibrations. The shipment was stored at 18 degrees centigrade in the cargo hold. These works will be part of a twelve-month touring exhibition in Brazil, where they will be displayed in Sao Paulo, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro.
