That Jeb Bush Freight Train? A Wreck, Marco Rubio Allies Chortle

After Jeb Bush s super PAC, Right to Rise, imagined Senator Marco Rubio as a weathervane and Mr. Bush as a freight train by comparison, Conservative Solutions PAC, which is behind Mr. Rubio, fired back with this ad, acidly titled Train Wreck.

The Right to Rise ad s locomotive, pulling a boxcar with Mr. Bush s visage, barrels along until the frame is jarred akilter to the sounds of shattering glass, as if it derailed. He s fallen to throwing mud at Marco Rubio, a deep-voiced narrator proclaims, as headlines declare that the desperate Bush attacks backfired.

The truth? the narrator continues: Mr. Rubio is a recognized expert on national security who fought to strengthen our border and fix a broken immigration system. Photographs show him studying a briefing book and speaking out at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Mr. Rubio takes on the establishment, and wins, the ad says, showing him, arms crossed, on the cover of National Review in 2009, under the headline Yes, he can.
