October 16, 2012 Woodland Logistics has taken delivery of a fleet of 15 new Mercedes Benz Actros tractor units and 24 Lawrence David trailers to facilitate the renewal of a contract with one of the UK s leading packaging manufacturers, Cepac Limited, based near Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Woodland has acted as lead supplier to Cepac for the past seven years and the new five-year contract takes the successful partnership to 2017. The relationship between Woodland and Cepac is one of total transparency on both operational and cost metrics: Cepac receive 100% of all savings and efficiencies generated by Woodland.
The Woodland management team work closely with Cepac s sales and production teams to maximise load fill rate and vehicle efficiencies throughout the supply chain, helping Cepac to retain and win new business, explains Sean Kirby, managing director of Woodland Logistics. The main aspect is that the fleet is a lot more economical, he says. Our trucks are all full, so we are maximising utilisation there.
