Bonded Warehouses In The UK

We receive many calls and enquiries to our office here at Whichwarehouse in respect of how to find a list of warehouses in the UK that offer Customs Bonded storage & warehousing services. As you may well be aware, no such list exists in the public domain. Specialised warehousing in the UK is not as widely advertised as ambient and temperature controlled facilities and therefore contact details are hard to find when it comes to a company requiring bonded storage solutions. Bonded Warehouses In The UK[1]

That s where Whichwarehouse can assist. We have a small number of third party logistics[2] providers in the UK covering various locations who as well as offering ambient and temperature controlled warehouse facilities, can also provide Customs Bonded storage and warehousing logistics services.

HMRC Bonded warehouses

If you import expensive goods into the UK such as electrical items or alcohol you might wish to defer the payment of duty and VAT until you sell the goods. There are specific warehouses available throughout the UK (predominantly located and found near major UK ports) that can assist you with this aspect of your business. This option allows the importer to pass on the cost to their customers at the point of sale (P.O.S) rather than having a large outlay at the time of import. Another reason a company might be seeking a bonded warehouse is if the goods are being imported and then re-exported from the UK where duty or VAT may not be applicable. Bonded warehouses must be approved by HMRC[3] in order to store imported goods or goods that are to be re-exported from the UK. We strongly advise all customers to speak to HMRC if you are looking into wet or dry bonded warehousing as they will be able to provide you with up-to-date information to ensure you have all the facts. The paperwork involved with the procedures and regulations that need to be adhered to can take up to 6 weeks, or more, to process and therefore it is recommended that you put in your applications as soon as possible. This is especially necessary when importing alcohol as companies importing certain alcoholic goods will require a WOWGR[4] licence (Warehousekeepers and Owners of Warehoused Goods Regulations (UK). When filing your paperwork with HMRC you will need to provide details of the warehouse you intend to store your goods in. Therefore again, it is vital that you look into this in plenty of time before you import the goods as you will need all arrangements in place before you can bring the goods to the UK. Goodwill visit to Merseyside

[ March 11, 2016 // [1] ]

Shipping Minister Robert Goodwill visited Peel Ports Liverpool2 development on 10 March ahead of the container terminal s opening later this year.
Marine trials are due to begin later this month, with other elements of the build coming online throughout the second quarter of 2016.
The minister said: Merseyside has a rich maritime history and the future is looking bright thanks to major projects such as the Maritime Knowledge Hub and the deep water container terminal Liverpool2 at the Port of Liverpool. The Government will continue to offer its full support to the maritime industry, a sector which is vitally important to the UK economy.
Speaking after the Minister s visit to Liverpool2, Gary Hodgson, Chief Operating Officer at Peel Ports, said: It was an honour to host the minister and to show him how construction is progressing at Liverpool2. We very much welcome his interest in how developments at and around the Port of Liverpool are attracting strong backing from cargo owners who are increasingly looking to the North-West gateway as a more efficient route to market.
The Liverpool2 development is part of a 650m investment by Peel Ports in the region and builds on a previous 125m investment in the National Import Centre at Port Salford, the UK s first tri-modal inland port facility and national distribution park.
Later during his visit to Liverpool the Minister formally opened the first phase of the new Maritime Knowledge Hub in Wirral. Operated jointly by sector development organisation Mersey Maritime and Liverpool John Moores University, the new facility will be a global centre of excellence within the UK, generating knowledge-led growth and innovation.
Targeting an increased share of a global maritime industries market worth more than 3000 billion, the Hub will create a focal point for the Liverpool city region s strengths and will ultimately include serviced business start-up space and support, an offshore survival centre and marine simulation centre, and a state-of-the-art facility to help manufacturers design, test and build products or services.
Robert Goodwill said: This partnership between private, public and academic organisations is key to ensuring that our next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs are ready to succeed.

Land Rover Makes It A Mother's Day To Remember In Celebration …

Land Rover Makes It A Mother's Day To Remember In Celebration ...

The production of the Land Rover Discovery Sport has finally reached 100,000 units and to mark the occasion, Land Rover made a special surprise for one mum, Natalie Lipton, on Mother s Day which falls on 6th March 2016 . The Lipton family had unwittingly purchased the milestone vehicle which was built at Jaguar Land Rover s Halewood manufacturing plant, just 10 miles from their family home.

Land Rover Makes It A Mother's Day To Remember In Celebration ...

To celebrate the milestone, which was reached just days before Mother s Day in the UK, Land Rover went undercover with 7-year-old Jacob and 5-year-old Noah to find out just how this car could be made even more special for their mum. Accompanied by Paul Cleaver, Discovery Sport Vehicle Programme Director and Andy Wheel, Land Rover s Chief Design Manager for Exteriors, the Lipton boys had an access-all-areas tour of the company s Design and Engineering Centre at Gaydon. From experiencing driving virtual cars to developing clay models, Noah and Jacob provided the team with lots of inspiration and ideas for making this car special for mum Natalie.

To bring the boys ideas to life, a team of designers, suppliers and experts from Jaguar Land Rover s Special Vehicle Operations worked to create special touches which were delivered line side and placed in the car during production by the team at the Halewood manufacturing plant in Merseyside. The personalised Land Rover comes with a unique handcrafted scarf; a picnic blanket with the family name on, seat-back tidies for the children; tread-plates featuring The Liptons name; customized water bottles for all the family written in the children s handwriting; child-seats for Noah and Jacob, with their names stitched on in their handwriting, rear-seat entertainment screens; a signed cookbook from James Martin; a set of wellies for each member of the family; a Barbour for Land Rover Jacket for mum and a keyring featuring a favourite family snap.

This milestone, just like the 500,000th Evoque which came off the line in February, is a reminder that the Halewood manufacturing plant is responsible for bringing exceptional cars to customers in all four corners of the globe. I am however delighted that it is a mum, and her family, who live only a stone s throw from our plant that have taken delivery of this very special car. Halewood officially began production of Discovery Sport in October 2015 which bought an additional 250 jobs to the plant, ensuring three shift, 24 hour production. The 100,000th car, a Corris Grey HSE, rolled off the production line on February 29th, exactly 500 days after the first.
